The best buttery Waffles

Writer's picture: Julia BakesJulia Bakes

You have to try these fluffy, buttery and delicious waffles. They are super easy to make! They require few ingredients, offer lots of easy substituions, and freeze really well, so you can have amazing homemade waffles every morning! I like to make a batch at the beginning of the week which makes typically around 16 waffles. I let them cool, and then place them in a ziplock bag and then freeze them. Then when I want to eat them, I pop them in the toaster or toaster oven and voila!!

Step 1: Melt 6 tablespoons of your favorite butter, (I use unsalted) then set aside to cool.

Step 2: Crack 2 eggs in a big mixing bowl and take out your hand mixer. Beat the eggs for about 1 minute. They should look super fluffy and be light yellow.

Step 3: Next, add in 1/2 a cup of flour. Beat this till incorporated then add another 1/2 cup of flour and repeat this 2 more times for a total of 2 cups of flour.

Step 4: Next we need to add some liquid because your batter is probably super dry right now... but that's good.

Step 5: Add in your butter, beat.

Step 6: Add in 1 1/2 cups of whatever milk you want to use- I use almond. Mix

Step 7: Finally, add in 4 teaspoons of baking powder,1 tablespoon of sugar a dash of salt, cinnamon to your liking, a splash of vanilla and that's it!

Step 8: Now warm up your waffle maker and let the batter sit for 5 minutes and then see if the batter needs anything. You may need to add a splash of milk or a couple tablespoons of flour to get the right consistency. We want a fluffy wet batter.

Step 9: For my waffle maker, I like to add about a 1/2 cup of batter to each quarter. Enjoy! And follow me for more recipes!😃
